Mostly Martha

This intelligent German romance/comedy packs on the emotion heavier than your average American "You've Got Mail" and so I give this one my thumbs up. However, the Germans can't even seem to avoid predictability in their romantic comedies, either. The film centers around Martha, a temperamental French chef, whose best friend dies (of course leaving her mentally anguished) and she is left to look after her bratty kid. Meanwhile, at the restaurant, they hired a goofy co-chef and Martha don't like. The movie doesn't leave much to be desired, however, so I'm recommending it.
