Traveling salesman trickster, Prof. Harold Hill, who is notorious for selling instruments, uniforms and instruction books for boys to unsuspecting parents, collecting the money and runs without teaching the boys how to use them, makes it to small-town River City, Iowa. Everybody knows that Iowans are stubborn and hard to get, but Harold decides to give it a try. A rule one of thumb about starting a boy's band when you're clueless about music ----trick the town's piano teacher out of her wits! A perfectly delightful musical, with an excellent cast and wonderful music from Meredith Wilson. The first time it's viewed, you'll fall in love with the characters. Completely excellent and entertaining.
