The whole concept of a film changing my outlook on life seemed ridiculous to me ... and this film did it! At least for a week or so. (I'm not kidding.) Me, being the insecure college student, and unsure of my future actually found this film very comforting. It stars Tom Cruise as a do-gooder high school student who is left home alone in his house. Then he learns that two bumbling thieves are about to rob it. (Wait, wrong movie!) Then one of his friends, as a joke, invites a prostitute over for Mr. Cruise. One thing leads to another and … I bet you guessed it … he becomes a pimp! Of course, everything seems to go wrong with his week (i.e. his dad's sports car ends up in a lake, rival pimps come after him, etc.), but at the end, everything turns out okay. This is such an interesting, brilliant film that is the top of its kind. Tom Cruise, to this day, is still struggling to top this performance. And Hollywood still struggles to come out with a better teen sex comedy. (It won't happen at the rate its going.)
