Riveting but superficial science fiction film taking place in A.D. 2018 where corporations stooped to running the world and a sport called rollerball has taken over. This sport is a very interesting, fun-to-watch but very violent game that is so fierce that it literally leaves few survivors. When the rollerball champion, Caan, survives 10 years at it and is still going strong, the corporations begin to worry. What if Caan grows so popular that he becomes more powerful than the corporations? They try with all their strength to get him to retire. The only entertainment the film holds are the actual rollerball games, but the everything beyond that is usually boring. However, Rollerball is worth it to some people because it is unique and is somewhat relevant to today's society.
