I never thought it possible to actually enjoy a film that graphically depicts the horrors Jews faced in the Holocaust, but director Steven Spielberg made that possible. An aspiring German businessman, Oskar Schindler, brilliantly played by Liam Neeson, uses Jews as labor making pots and pans. He hires Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern, excellently played by Ben Kingsley. Stern, like the next guy, hated seeing people die because they are "useless" (i.e. one armed, too old, too slow.) So, he hires them to work at Schindler's factory. At first, Oskar Schindler is hazy on this notion, but ends up being a compassionate Nazi that saves 1,000 Jews from an untimely death. Everyone associated in making this film is ingenious. This critically acclaimed film is undoubtedly one of the best movies ever made and probably the best film to come out of the 1990's.
