Smokey and the Bandit

Burt Reynolds and Sally Field star in this slight but entertaining road-trip extravaganza. Reynolds makes a bet that he can deliver a truckload of alcohol from Texas to Alabama in 28 hours having to outrun cops and other such obstacles in order to do this. Along the way, Reynolds meets the young and beautiful Sally Field, who tags along for the ride. A surprising box-office hit for 1977 only placing second to Star Wars. I didn't particularly enjoy it, however.
