Albert Finney in the title role, plays a young womanizing bastard, whose adopted father kicks him out of the estate where he's forced to survive on his own. Tom Jones and a young lady named Sophie are deeply in love, but Sophie's father would never approve the marriage of her daughter with a bastard! So, Sophie runs away and tries to find Tom, but she soon finds out that he just recently slept with another woman. Oops. Tom Jones, to my surprise, is indeed one of the better comedies ever made. It is directed with such a lighthearted style and the actors play their roles to such perfection that it will have its audiences screaming for more. A highly recommended movie.
