Unbreakable

Bruce Willis stars in this disappointing thriller as a remarkable man who is the only survivor of a fatal train crash that killed hundreds. Samuel L. Jackson, a loopy comic book collector, exercises the thought that Willis may in fact be a real life super hero! "Unbreakable" has an intriguing plot with potential for captivating viewers. It even has a talented director, a first-rate cast and professional cinematographers going for it, but they don't seem to be able to work together successfully. What could have been a unique, eye-catching thriller is reduced to being depressing and dark. The fact that the entire cast spends 75 percent of their time sulking (yes, Willis does too) is a big part of it. The big redemption to this film is the incredible boost of electrifying energy the last 30 minutes of the movie contains, but that time it's too late.
