The West Side Story

Adapted from the Broadway hit, the West Side Story is a great musical with run-of-the-mill songs and dance numbers. Natalie Wood stars as Maria, a Puerto Rican girl, whose brother is a "Shark", but she fall in love with a "Jet", a rival gang. This film is an up-to-date version of Romeo and Juliet, except cleverly converted to teenage gangs. The songs are exquisite and the acting is exceptional! The West Side Story even gets away with gang members doing ballet-like choreography! One of the most popular musicals of all time; a good family pick.
