Penny Thornton & Lady Diana

" In the second dream, which I will recount in the present tense since that is how I recorded it in my diary, I am sitting in a sand dune having a picnic. Diana comes towards me, dressed in white with a black cloak around her [A] .

She sits down besides me. I feel awkward and unprepared for her sudden and unannounced arrival. She is telling me about someone who is called Peter, who has been fired because of her [G]. Apparently he is going to France [F] and will be undergoing plastic surgery [F] to conceal his identity.

She goes on to talk me about William, and while she does this, she holds up a large figure 3 [I].

She then begins to cry, and I comfort her, urging her not to give up on the marriage. She recovers her composure and I take up the topic of Peter, refering to him as a past relationship. "Its's not over. It's very much on, " [K] she says.  .....

I escort her out to her car, and when I return, William is seated in the same chair. He is much older [C] {1989 war William 7} and sporting a beard.
He says to me. "They don't tell me everything, you know. For a few minutes we lost complete radio contact with them ... "

As he was saying this to me, I saw an event from an aerial point of view [J]

Two
police motorcycles [D] and a white car [E] streaming ahead [E], leaving a black car [B] on its own.

Two vans
[H] approch from either side [H]
and prevent the black car [B] from moving forward. [!]

The dream ends in chaos and I hear my own voice saying, "Isn't anyone going to do anything ...?"

"...sitting at a large desk, was Her Majesty the Queen. She was delivering a somber speech, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hear what she was saying...."

"[Charles and Diana] were posing for photographs and were seated...on a child's rocking horse. Diana was laughing and Charles was urging her to be more responsible and to look serious for the cameras. There was a flash and a large explosion. All that was left on the stage was an empty car seat on a raised dais.[L]"

Original book text (page 76): " Charles was not recovering from his injury as well or as quickly as he had hoped, and the prospect orbis being unable to pl1;ly polo again was deeply depressing for him. According to Diana, he was intolerable to live with, moody, unapproachable-impossible. During the phone call, in light of her musings over events happening in threes, she was to remind me of a conversation we had had a few days before Christmas or, more particularly, the two dreams I bad discussed with her.

Dreams are more than the stuff of mindless imaginings. Clearly an element of sifting through day-to-day events and processing our experience is part and parcel of the function of dreams. But a dream is much more than a psychological shuffling process. In a dream's cryptic imagery lies not only the inner landscape of the psyche in the Jungian sense, hut the shadows of past and future events.

In the summer and autumn of 1989, I had what Jung might have termed two "big dreams." In the first, I was in the front row of an audience watching a play. The curtain went up and on the stage, sitting at a large desk, was Her Majesty, the Queen. She was delivering a somber speech, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hear what she was saying. I knew only that it concerned the future of the monarchy. My eyes were then drawn to Charles and Diana, who were just behind her. They were posing for photographs and were seated - Charles behind Diana - on a child's rocking horse. Diana was laughing and Charles was urging her to be more responsible and to look serious for the cameras. There was a flash and a large explosion. All that was left on the stage was an empty car seat on a raised dais.

In the second dream, which I will recount in the present tense since that is how I recorded it in my diary, I am sitting in a sand dune having - a picnic. Diana comes towards me, dressed in white with a black cloak around her. She sits down beside me. I feet awkward and unprepared for her sudden and unannounced arrival. She is telling me about someone called Peter who has been fired because of her. Apparently he is going to France and will be undergoing plastic surgery to conceal his identity. She goes on to talk to me about William, and while she does this, she holds up a large figure 3. She then begins to cry, and I comfort her, urging her not to give up on the marriage. She recovers her composure and I take up the topic of Peter, referring to him as a
past relationship. "It's not over. It's very much on," she says.

The scene changes to my then home, Bramshott Court. Diana comes into the sitting room with a large gift-wrapped present, which she bands to me. When I open it, I find a strange-Iooking object about three feet in size - the only thing this object vaguely resembles is the ornate hand of a large clock I am embarrassed at the enormity of the gift and refuse it, saying Prince Charles might be cross if she gave it away. I escort her out to her car, and when I return, William is seated in the same chair. He is much older and sporting a beard. He says to me, "They don't tell me everything, you know. For a few minutes we lost complete radio contact with them . . ." As he was saying this to me, I saw an event from an aerial point of view. Two police motorcycles and a white car streaming ahead, leaving a
black car on its own. Two vans approach from either side and prevent the black car from moving forward. The dream ends in chaos and I hear my own voice saying, "Isn't anyone going to do anything . . . ?"

Analysts will clearly have a field day with the offerings of my own personal unconscious here, but aside from taking the dreams apart on a strictly
psychological level, there are some intriguing foretastes of the future here - and the past.

During our December '89 conversation, the topic of reincarnation had come up. Diana confided that she was becoming more and more deeply involved in a spiritual path that she not only believed was her role in this life but something she had done in
a past existence. Given that "Peter" was a key figure in the second dream and that we were by the sea, I wondered if there was an echo of the time of Christ here. "Oh, yes. . ." she said emphatically, "I was a martyr."

I will return to the premonitory aspects of these dreams in Chapter VIII, but suffice to say, the images in the second dream convey a wealth of information about the current state of play in Diana's life - more specifically that there was a strong possibility of an ongoing relationship

31. August 1997

"According to witnesses, Paparazzi -- the commercial photographers who constantly followed Diana -- were pursuing the car on motorcycles.

Authorities said seven photographers -- six reported to be French and one Macedonian -- were in custody, and a criminal investigation was under way. Police seized two motorcycles and a motor scooter believed used in the chase."

" Mystery of the white Fiat Uno

Probably the most intriguing eye-witness account was that of Sabine and George D.
Their surnames were withheld to save them from media harassment.
In January, they gave a detailed interview to Hello magazine in which they said they saw a Fiat Uno shoot out of the tunnel moments after the crash."

"

I. Bei dem Unfall starben 3 Menschen.
