 Air France Boeing 747-200

Air France Boeing 747-200
Location: Dorval Airport, Montréal, Québec, Canada Arrival on runway 24R from Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, France. Air France is a major player in the Montreal market. Twinning two French cities together (Paris & Montreal) comes naturally to the French national airline. Montreal has seen scheduled service by most every long haul airliner in Air France's fleet at some point in time. Back in the 1970s the Boeing 707 ran daily flights to Paris Orly. Air France was the first airline to introduce the 747-100 to Montreal in the same decade. Since then AF has gone from a single daily flight to a proposed three times daily service for summer 2003. The 747-400, 777-200, A340 and 767 have all been flying the route at various times through out the year. Even the Concorde has flown in on rare occasions but never as a schedule run of course. Montreal-Paris is the type of route Air France likes to use as a "proving run" or test run for new aircraft introduced into their fleet. Very often a new variant will be placed on the route for a limited number of weeks to "break in the aircraft" for use elsewhere. For spotters Air France never disappoints other than their reknown reputation for being late...but that just makes them all the more interesting for us.
