Surgery is a dreaded word for most common people. But i am of the opinion that surgery is the best choice for many a crippling health conditions. I remember having seen a documentary on Television featuring a surgeon who had implanted a Silicon chip in the brain of a patient who was suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease.He had attempted to amplifyt the voluntarily generated neuronal signals in the motor cortex and transmit it via subcutaneously implanted wires to the appropriate muscle groups such that the patient could have some freedom of movement generated by amplification of signals originating in the Pre-central sulcus. Sadly the surgical procedure was a failure. But with repeated attempts I am sure that the surgeon will be successful in accomplishing his task.
