My Alma mater
Bethel College,
known for its B.S.N., program with emphasis on community health nursing
and group process.
A little about myself:
After Graduating
my desire was to work Psychiatric. Following the advice of nursing school
instructors I sought at least one year on a
med?Surg. floor. Initially I went
to work at Wesley Medical
Center on 2?Tower. 2Tower is the Ortho, Neuro, Trauma and Urology
floor; I also occasionally worked
MICU. Intensive care Rocks, but Post?Surgical nursing was my favorite.
Following a year and a quarter
on 2?Tower I worked for Charter
Wichita Behavioral Health Systems. Charter was an 80-bed level 4 hospital
focusing on Behavioral
health and Chemical Dependency.
These 80 beds were distributed among child/adolescent behavioral, adult
Psychiatric, adult Chemical dependency and two Residential Treatment Centers
(RTC's) for male and female teens in custody of the Juvenile Detention
system. In
Mid February, 2000. Following the
closing of Charter I went back home to Wesley. Where I took a position
on a prn basis (normaly about 80 hours per two weeks in my case). Presently
I am in process of making proper application for a full time equivalent
in the capacity of Clinical Advisor (Charge Nurse).
