How We Make Our Blank Cylinders!

Edison Phonograph Works is a small output hobby company, we are the only major supplier of wax phonogram blanks in the US. First of all We find out that the term "wax", which has been used since the dawn of commercial recording to describe Phonogram blanks is misleading. The formula is a very dangerous high temp compound.

The inside is reamend, and then put on the shaving

machine, and the right end is made flat with a blade.

The left end of the cylinder is given an angle cut

with a knife, by hand on the shaving machine.

The last step is shaving, the cylinder out of the

mould is not true, shaving makes the suface true and shiny, this is the first shave.

A high quality master blank ready to age!
