About Me
Hi and welcome again to The Olde Homeplace.

So this is where I'm supposed to put my bio! Ok, I'm called
Eilis-Rose and as you can see by this page, I love roses.

People have a really hard time pronouncing my name so I'm going to help you out with it. A-LESS. That's it and the a is the long a not the short vowel form and it isn't EYE-LESS.  You can call me Lissa for short if you want.

I started singing and dancing before age 3. I started writing about age 5, I've been writing poetry, stories, articles since I was about 9  or 10.  I love music, all kinds of music, so after a while I started putting words to music...I wrote about 10 songs none of which got got published, that I know of, but they did get played and people seemed to like them. They got played at home and around campfires at folk festivals.

I never considered myself a writer, poet or artist until quite late in life. Thanks to the mentoring and encouragement of some significant people who came along and decided I had a talent that should be developed and so I learned from some pretty good teachers. Some of them quite famous.

I write and create art for the love of creating. Most of my poetry is romantic genre with a medieval or biblical flavoring. My stories are in the form of fables, parables, and some futuristic sci-fi, or inspirational.  There are a few childrens stories I have written.

I have several of them that form the basis of books that are in various stages of development. I have been published on the web and have won a couple of prizes in Poetry.com's contests.

I was a holdout and got in on the computer age a little late in the game..but once I discovered the internet I became fascinated with how the websites were created and designed and started fooling around and experimenting,  Then I discovered graphics programs such as Paint Shop Pro and have been learning and creating ever since. It's become my favorite pastime.  I hope one day to become good enough at it to actually get paid for it.  This year I started creating Incredimail Stationeries and have begun to learn animation.  I'm also fooling around trying to learn 3D and how to compress my own wav files.

I'm still learning.
Well, that's it for my bio. Thanks for visiting and be sure to sign my guestbook on the way out, and please, if you like my site come back and visit often.
