What's New?

Epsilon North PDA Announcement
It's a great thing to be able to have the new Epsilon North Province Director of Alumnae in our association! Sue Leone Moore, 2001-2002 Elgin CL AA president, has been appointed as our new PDA and will begin duties this fall. As PDA, Sue has responsibility to guide the various associations in the Epsilon North province, including Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois; and to visit each of the 14 associations during the biennium. Sue will remain active in the Elgin Crystal Lake association, and is very excited to take on this new role!
Beth Black, our former PDA, has been assigned Region 3 (Southern states) as she begins her next Kappa assignment as Regional Director of Alumnae. We extend our warmest congratulations to Beth and wish her every success! Also, Beth has been our president, our mentor and our friend... and always welcome in our hearts!

Convention Update
I was fortunate to attend Convention this biennium in beautiful Orlando, Florida. (Beautiful even during the rainy season) Being a first-time delegate brought many surprises including giving the Devotional on Friday morning, meeting new Kappa friends, gathering lots of good ideas and even sharing some!
I'm pleased to announce that we, the Elgin Crystal Lake Alumnae Association, were awarded a McNaboe Commitment award! Congratulations everyone! Also, Beth Black, our 2001-2002 Provide Director of Alumnae was elected to a Regional Director of Alumnae position. She is currently looking for an Epsilon PDA replacement and will let us know as soon as that's finalized. Congratulations, Beth! We'll miss you!
Some other highlights:
The fraternity introduced a new identity, I'll be able to share with you soon. I really like it, and I hope you will too.
The alumnae initiation bylaw was defeated, however there were three resolutions that were approved. You'll hear more about that soon.
Anne Trusdell was elected to a second term as Fraternity President and a new list of officers will be printed in the Fall issue of The Key
Our website was featured in one of the seminars!
I'm going to try to have a scrapbook for all to see at our annual picnic in August. Please plan on attending as it will kick-off our 2002-2003 season!
Convention 2004 is scheduled for late June in Kansas City. I hope we are fortunate to send more than one representative to that convention so that they, too, can experience what it means to be a Kappa at Convention!
Our Province meeting is scheduled for February 2003 at Northwestern University. Stay tuned for more details. We're hopefully going to be able to send two representatives to this meeting!
Hope to see you at the annual picnic... more details to follow shortly!
Loyally,
Sue
