Elly

your hair, so fascinating

Dance on my face
Silken thread, silken thread
And tease me
Tickle my nose
And brush my neck
Soft strands
So nice to touch.

Elly... What Beautiful Hair

Today, when I went shopping at Wal-Mart, I was looking for razors and soap and I passed the hair-dye section. For some unknown reason, I immediately stopped and started staring at the colours, and, within a second, I was suddenly thinking to myself, "Hmm, what colour would Elly's hair be? Would it simply be 'Light auburn', would it be more like 'copper blonde', or would it match something more exotic, like 'Carribean Coral Reef'?"

I didn't have a picture of Elly with me at the time, so I could not compare the colours to Elly's actual hair colour. It was actually somewhat disappointing in my mind not to be able to confirm exactly what dye you needed to make your hair look like Elly's. After all, her hair colour is stunning, and so I wouldn't mind seeing people who have the proper 'auburn' hair colour to match her beautiful locks of hair.

It also leads me to wonder, does Elly always wear her hair straight down? What would she look like if she tried to strap it up in a ponytail, or if she decided, one day, that she needed a change of style and cut it? Although long, straight hair is absolutely awesome, I also like short hair (as in, shorter than shoulder-length). Long hair has a sort of majestic look to it, while short hair looks more professional and stylish.

Then again, in anime, characters are defined most by their eyes, and their hair colour and style, so I'm wondering if Elly's facial structure is defined enough so that if someone drew fanart of her with short hair, that people would recognize it. There was a girl in my old school who actually had hair of similar colour to Elly's, and I found her gorgeous as well. But strangely enough, or maybe not so, a lot of other people found her attractive.

I wonder, is there something defined in human nature as to what features make a woman 'beautiful'? Many state that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' and that may be true to an extent, but I want to know if there's something that almost all people find beautiful; maybe it's the shape of the face, or the way the figure is built, or the hair or eyes or facial features.

I don't know. It's extremely difficult to discover exactly what it is that defines beauty without using an example.

All I can truthfully say is that Elly is beautiful in my mind.
