Therefore on almost all of the quotes and stories I have NO idea who originally said/wrote them, and I don't take ANY credit for them. To start it off, I would like to summarize a story I received in a recent newsletter. I believe the letter said it was from a chicken soup book. Anyway...the story goes that a young woman hurt another very badly by what she told them. She feels bad so she goes to a very wise, older woman for help. She says she can tell her how to un-do her mistake. She tells her to take her pillows, take all the feathers out of them, and in the night place one feather on each doorstep of every house in her neighborhood. Then she could come back after she finished for the second and final step. This is in the middle of winter. So the young woman does as told, freezing, but going along with it thinking it will change what happened. Just at daybreak she finishes each house, and goes back to the old woman and asks her for the next step. The old woman tells her to now go back and pick up each of the feathers, and her mistake will be un-done. The young woman asks her why she didn't tell her that before, because nearly as soon as she placed the feather down, it would blow away because of the wind. The old woman explained to her that, just like she couldn't bring the feathers back, she couldn't bring back her words.
