25th birthday note from Grandma & Poppy

December 8, 1998

                    Dear Karen, Mike and Larry,

Everyday and forever--- I think of Eric.  I cry with you and

                       for you. And remember!

On December 8, 1996, I wished Eric a Happy Birthday.

How could I know, that was my final “goodbye”.

On January 8, 1997, our world collapsed.  I watch with

sadness your incredible pain; as you grieve for your son and

brother.  Eric left us too soon, but did indeed, leave us much to

treasure.  I have the right to ask for much more for you. But

that wasn’t the plan and I wasn’t in charge.  There was a time,

I could wipe away your tears, kiss your wounds and make

things better.  Now, I offer you comfort, understanding and my

deepest respect ( and pride) for the way you honor Eric.

We all know your Dad won’t write, but please know he too

grieves and joins me with concern and love.  Grief and

happiness we always share--- we have experienced both!

So, with tender thoughts------- “HAPPY BIRTHDAY

                                 ERIC!”

I see you in your mom and dad’s eyes and watch your

brother’s silent tears.  Be in peace--- make things right in the

beautiful heaven that now embraces you. You are missed!

I love you all very much!

                   Mom (grandma) & Dad (poppy)
