DIY Flexy Rack- Construction
I have completely changed what I was planning on doing (the stage), because it turned out that it was going to be too complicated, expensive, and too much trouble. I went back to the drawing board and decided to go with the popular idea of building a flexy rack.
Materials
MDF boards- 72 x 30 }
72 x 32 }
72 x 34 } x ¾ in
72 x 36 }
(8) 29" all thread rods, 5/8 in
(64) zinc hex nuts, 5/8 in
(64) zinc washers, 5/8 in
(64) rubber dampening washers, 5/8 in
(8) rubber end caps for bottom
black paint
Total Cost: $128

To drill, stack the wood and clamp it to make sure the holes will line up with the rods later on
I painted the shelves with standard semi-gloss black paint from the hardware store. Using a paint roller definitely made it go faster.
