Princess Emeraude…A bit about The Princess is the young and beautiful pillar of Cephiro, that is to say, she keeps Cephiro alive and out of danger by praying for it’s safety. It’s quite a hard job and takes it’s toll on her emotionally. She is strong in her will and sense of duty. And though the Princess is attentive to her duty, there is one in her company who refuses to believe that constant prayer for a lands’ safety is anyway for her to live.
Her advisor and high priest Zagato, a student of the Sorcerer Guru Clef, is very much in love with the Princess, and she with him. So he decides to put a plan into action that will stop her from praying for Cephiro. He kidnaps her and takes her away to isolation somewhere else. Zagato tries to convince Emeraude that this is the only way that they can be free, and together, but the Princess, worried as she was about Cephiro, uses her great powers to call forth the 3 Magic Knights Rayearth (Umi, Fuu, and Hikaru) to come and rescue her. After many trials and tribulations, they finally come to rescue after making some interesting discoveries (one such discovery is that Ferrio is Emeraude’s brother; Emeraude erased their memories of each other in order to keep Ferrio safe). After the final confrontation and Zagato is defeated, the Princess is distraught and still desperately in love with Zagato knows that the only way for her to ever be free with him is to have the Magic Knights kill her as well. Armed with this knowledge, she goes into battle with them, and is inevitably destroyed herself. A very sad R & J sort of love story, with a typically sad ending. Now Cephiro is without a pillar…what will they do?? The Princess’ spells - Sainos Light & Debonair Gold |
