Sauces & Dressings Mushroom Stroganoff

Recipe Ingredients
Olive oil
Garlic
Half an onion
A whole bunch of Mushrooms (I use a variety of whatever is in the supermarket)
Cheap white wine
a smallish tub of sour cream



Recipe Directions

This recipe was adlibbed after I ate something like it on a Green Tortise bus trip to Yosemite. All I remembered as that there was cheap wine and sour cream. This is what I came up with
Cut up the onion and garlic and mushrooms. Fry the onion in a bit of olive oil for a while, then add the garlic. When the onion is cooked a bit, add the mushrooms. Fry them a bit and then add some wine. Sit around and let that reduce a bit. When everyhting looks nice and cooked, take it off the heat. Then add the sour cream and mix it around. It is VERY IMPORTANT that it is off the heat before you add the sour cream, I don't know why but thats that. Serve over egg noodles. Yum!
