The Guardian- This futuristic, graphic-intensive, site's interface engages students as they participate in detailed projects involving saving the Rainforest, finding Peace in Space, and locating Life in Space. It is exciting and educational!
Collaborative Lesson Archive- Here are lots of interactive projects organized by grade level.
HP Telementor Program- HP provides mentors to work with classroom teachers and students, exchanging e-mail weekly, working on projects related to real jobs. Projects are related to curriculum and designed for grades 5-12.
SCORE- Visitors can search by grade level, theme or topic for great links. Information about professional development, Internet integration, virtual projects and field trips, and more can be found here. This is a great resource!!

Kit & Kaboodle Curriculum- The Kit & Kaboodle(sm) Curriculum is a highly interactive download program involving elementary science projects. Students from around the world tackle real-world problems while collaborating as communities of learners.
NJNIE Projects- Here is a list of projects, organized by grade level, followed by a listing of the goals the students should attain by doing the project, written as links to the national standards.
Theme-Specific Collaborative Projects
Faces of the Olympics- Students ages 10-16 are invited to research their local towns to find Olympic veterans and to share the photos and information on this site.
Oreo Online Project 2002- This site invites schools from all over the world to assist in this Online Internet Project as students stack Oreo cookies and learn about measurement, hypothesizing, teamwork, and more!
Operation Montserrat- Apply to this program, a complete curricular package of classroom content which connects a flight director with a classroom anywhere in the world. Using the Internet and a small video camera, students interact with the flight director to track the hurricane, predict volcanic activity and consider evacuation options.
Tombstone Project- Students are asked to collect data on tombstones located near their homes. Data is analyzed, graphed, and life spans are calculated.
Westward HO!- Students are invited to get ready for adventure, drama, comedy, tragedy, and fantastic learning as they hit the Oregon Trail and head out west! Collaborative fireside meetings decide the fate of your group's adventure- all grade levels- 1/02-3/02
NonProfit Prophets- Students in 9th through 12th grade will serve as core teams investigating a problem in local or global communities that they think needs fixing. Students in other grades can work as consultants, experts, researchers, data gatherers, technologists, graphic artists, etc. to help the core teams.
Human Genetics- Students analyze collected information to determine how often dominant genes occur. Students formulate hypotheses and use compiled data.
The Internet Mathematics Challenge- Students from Vassalboro Community School are inviting students to add to their wonderful collection of photos of famous buildings, overlaid with geometric shapes that they have discovered. Nicely done!
The Costs of War- Webquest- Students are asked to research, assimilate, discuss, question, and debate different perspectives on the topics of "War" with students worldwide.
Dare to Fly With Class-Students is grades 3-5 are invited to collaborate and design paper aircraft and compete to fly the farthest and longest. This project is very organized and complete!
Noon Shadow Project- Middle schools around the world measure the length of a noon shadow at the Vernal Equinox. The results are collected by submission via an Internet form.
The Global/Sun Temperature Project- Join schools from around the world as they try to figure out how proximity to the equator affects average daily temperature and hours of sunlight.
Eratosthenes- This is a collaborative Canadian experiment involving measuring the shadow cast by a stick in tow vastly separated geographical locations. The goal of this science experiment is to measure the circumference of the Earth in much the same way that Eratosthenes first did more then two millennia ago!
Off To A Flying Start- Designed for K-4 classrooms, here is NASA's project covering the math and science of flight, construction of a paper airplane, and collaboration with other classes and experts.
Chicago School's Student Zone- This component contains wonderful projects, organized by grade level and topic.
Global Grocery List Project- Elementary and older students collect grocery items from stores, submit the costs, and evaluate other countries' prices for groceries.
Pringles Project- This project calls for a team of students to design and test a container for shipping a single Pringles potato chip, via the US Postal Service. The participating schools will match up via the web page.
Having a Bubble Blast- Students in grades 3-6 participate in an internet based collaborative project in which they devise a method to measure the size of a bubble blown from bubble gum and find the brand of gum that makes the largest bubble. This is complete with teaching materials and lessons.
The Journey North- The journeys of a dozen migratory species are tracked each spring. Elementary students share their own field observations with classrooms across the Hemisphere. In addition, students are linked with scientists who provide their expertise directly to the classroom.
NASA Wright Flyer- Grades 3-8 students can participate in the Right Flying Online Collaborative Project challenging participants to build and design the best flying balsa wood glider. Biographies of the Wright Brothers, information on the science of flight, and teacher activities and student projects complete this great site.
International Collaborative Boiling Point Project- This project challenges students to discover how air pressure affects the boiling point of water. Students complete the experiments and post their data on the Web..
How Far Does Light Go? Great for high school physics, this site offers the problem, discusses the task, and provides the resources for debating if light fades as it travels or goes forever and is absorbed.
Neuron Lab Project- NeurOn (Neurolab Online) is a project that invites classrooms around the world to join NASA personnel as they prepare for the Neurolab mission, STS-90.The Neurolab mission will conduct brain research to study neurological and behavioral changes in space.
Wind Tunnel Online Design- Take your 8-12 th grade students on a historical and scientific aeronautical journey as they parallel the turn-of-the-century research and design work of Orville and Wilbur Wright. They will bid on the best wind tunnel design (which they, themselves, select) and will engage in the actual construction of wind tunnels built specifically for classroom use.
World Game- Designed for high school ages, this is online simulations which make you in charge of the world, give you enormous powers, even larger responsibilities, and challenge you abilities to solve real-world problems.
Science Learning Network- Connect with schools and educators who are part of the science learning network. Chat with other students, also. Featured collaborative science projects provides project description and an invitation to join the schools as they learn science!
Taming the Tube- Students ages 10-12 participate in an online research and data analysis project: monitoring TV-watching habits of their own age group around the world.
