1 12 oz package medium egg noodles
1/4 pound butter [1 stick]
12 oz small curd cottage cheese
8 oz sour cream
8 oz cream cheese [softened]
1 cup sugar
6 eggs
2 3/4 cups milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla
3/4 cup slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
Boil noodles about 6 minutes in a large pan of water
Drain but do not rinse noodles
Put noodles back in the pan on low-medium heat along with the butter, cut into slices
Stir well, so noodles don't stick together
Add cottage cheese and stir well
Cream the cream cheese and sugar, then add sour cream and mix until smooth. Add eggs and mix well. Stir this into the mixture on the stove. Add the milk and vanilla and stir well. Stir slivered almonds into mixture.
Pour into large 3 qt. casserole dish coated with cooking spray. Top with a few more almonds if you wish. Bake UNcovered for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown on top. (This makes LOTS; you might want to cut the recipe in half!)
