TOWING ALOFT

A club has tow operators, which are specialised for static line towing paragliders, including PG novice training on tow and advance tow training. Besides training, regularly towing and emergency procedures, our tow operators are educated for advanced towing techniques, too.
With support of »Towing systems« company, for some activities we are using all others towing systems like stationary, static and payout. From perspective of different rated pilots, our towing is exceptionally »soft and pleasant«.

Static line towing

In this towing system, from launching to glider releasing the towline does not change its length, there is no reeling. Therefore the source of towing power is moving. That source is usually a car, which we using for regulating tow force, by changing speed accordingly to tensiometer. Speed of the vehicle is depending on wind speed, and it is rarely more than 40 km/h, most often it is from 20-30 km/h.
Altitude that paraglider can achieve with this kind of towing basically depends on towpath and towline length, and wind speed also. Usually, from a towpath of 1000 m we are achieving from 250-300 m (when there is some wind).
