Following are the transcript and a few captures from Kate's interview with Steve Kmetko that aired tonight on E! News Daily! Thanks to Diana for the tip on the segment!

"Quills and Frills"

Steve [in studio] …The Marquis de Sade is an unlikely subject matter for a movie, at least a mainstream movie. But 'Quills' is already being lauded as a serious Oscar contender. The world premiere Friday at the London Film Festival introduced the high caliber cast, including Michael Caine, Joaquin Phoenix, Geoffrey Rush, and Kate Winslet. Kate joined us earlier in London to chat about de Sade and motherhood.

Steve [Sitting in a London hotel suite with Kate]  You've been to a number of film festivals. Does it mean more to you…?

Kate: 'Cause it's London?
Steve: Yes.
Kate: I think so, yes. (Chuckling) I mean, apart from anything else, it's easier to get there for me. And it sort of feels a while since I've been to anything like that. But then, I've kind of been on another planet, with having the baby and things.
Steve: The baby's name is Mia, correct?
Kate: Mia, yes.
Steve: How old is she now?
Kate: She's three weeks old. She was three weeks yesterday.
Steve: My, you shouldn't be here. I thought it had been longer than that.
Kate: Well, don't worry, she's a couple of doors away. I'll be seeing her again very shortly.
Steve: Let me get back to 'Quills' for one moment, if I might. What made you decide to take the role?
Kate: The script, the script. I was sent the script, and when I was sent it, I remember my agent saying to me, 'look, it's a little bit out there, but I think it's your kind of thing.'
Steve: [voice over of 'Quills' clip] Kate plays a chambermaid who helps the Marquis de Sade smuggle his controversial writings out of an asylum. [To Kate] What springs to mind when you hear the name Marquis de Sade?
Kate: Well, before I did 'Quills', what sprung to mind was lots of appalling, pornographic literature, and the fact that he was an extraordinary writer, even though a lot of his stuff is, yes, absolutely disgusting. Well, it all is. I mean, I've read some of it, and, you know…
Steve: Have you?
Kate: Oh, God, yeah…
Steve: I want to run right out and get 'Justine'.
Kate: Oh, God, it's frightening. I mean, some of the stuff that he wrote about, you know, is just… the mind boggles.

Steve: [laughing] …Rush called this movie a great date movie.
Kate: [Amused] A great date movie? Well, it would 'make or break', I think, make or break.

Steve: (still chuckling) Yes.
Kate: A great date movie, yeah. No, I think he's probably right, I think he's probably right.
Steve: [in studio] While 'Quills' will be in theatres the day before Thanksgiving for moviegoers in L.A. and New York, the rest of the country will have to wait until December.
