What is recyclable?

We accept:

Cardboard
Chipboard
Aluminum cans
Tin Cans
Newspaper (including the inserts)
Magazines
Junk Mail (self-sealing and window envelopes are okay)
Office Paper (white and colored, manila folders and envelops)
#1 and #2 plastic containers (remove caps and pumps)

We do not accept:

Plastic bags or UNMARKED plastics
Extrude aluminum (such as foil or pie pans)
Furniture
Wrapping paper
Batteries
Organic material (wood, grass/yard/food waste)
Hazardous Waste (Pesticides/herbicides, paint, antifreeze, oil, gasoline)
Tires
Bio-hazardous Waste (including syringes)

Please take the time to rinse your recyclables; labels are okay. If you have a large amount of one recyclable item call us at (928)556-9900. We will give you further instruction on what to do.

GLASS RECYCLING

Glass may be recycled at any of the following drop-off sites, but is not part of the commingled system.

Beaver Street and Route 66
Flagstaff MRF
Continental Baseball Field

Clear, brown and green glass are acceptable and do not need to be separated. Window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, etc. are not allowed.

Glass is brought to the MRF from the various drop-off sites and crushed back into sand. The sand can be purchased for a variety of uses including gardening, construction, golf course filler, and an alternative to salt for de-icing during the winter months.
