A complete site with many links to Oregon See this award winning state travel guide. One of the nicest places to visit is here in central Oregon, and there is a destination resort called Sunriver. Surrounding the area, are panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains and Newberry Volcanic National Park is directly to the east. This area has it's own premiere ski resort called Mt. Bachelor. There has been lots of volcanic activity in this area which can be seen in exhibits at the Lava Lands Visitor's Center. Another interesting place to visit is the High Desert Museum.
In 1980, there was a volcanic eruption at
Mt. St. Helens which was well documented.

state as well as a
geologic survey of Oregon. There is
also the Oregon state
archives for a complete history of the state,
as well as the PBS site covering the
Oregon trail.
