An average size tree, about 25 meters tall, with fairly large leaves, fruits and flowers. They are native of Myanma, Thailand, Malaysia dan Indonesia. The fruits are 6 cm in diameter and the crimson petaled female flowers are slightly scented and are 5 cm across. The trees are planted in villages and small fruit gardens for it's fruit. When the fruits drops they are thinly sliced and sundried. The sundried fruit is acidic, rich in catharic, is very sour and used as a flavouring.
