Nota Ringkas (Short Notes)


Sejenis rumput pantai, dari Pantai Timur Semenanjung Malaysia. Berfaedah sebagai perlindung pasir dari hakisan di pantai. Buahnya berbentuk bulat dan jatuh apabila sudah matang. Ini dibawah angin, dan bergelek atas pasir seperti satu bola berduri ketempat yang baru dimana ia tumbuh menjadi pokok baru. Durinya tajam dan boleh melukakan bila terpijak.

A seashore grass, found on the East Coasts of Peninsular Malaysia. Useful as a sandbinding grass which prevents erosion. The fruit heads are rounded and becomes detached when matured. This are blown along the beach like balls of spine to new location where it will germinate into new plants. The spines are quite stiff and can hurt if stepped on.
