RICK SPRINGFIELD
For once I can say that I am glad President Clinton was on TV. A friend saved me from watching the State of the Union Address this January by pointing out the Rick Springfield Behind the Music Special was on VH-1. I was a bit too young to fully appreciate Rick back in the 80's, so this special caught be my surprise by blowing me away. Ever since I've been interested in all things Springfield! A few months later, my friends Melanie and Karen announced they were going to see him play on Long Island on May 21, 1999. The trip was well worth it. That was the beginning of the end! I'm totally hooked! His live show is absolutely incredible! He is having a great time on stage and it shows. Right now, Rick is touring to support Karma, the CD he released this spring. If he plays anywhere near you, GO!

On October 14, 1999, I made a trek down to New York City to meet the man at Virgin Megastore in Times Square. It was a great day! My time with Rick was short but sweet. I asked him to come up and play in Boston, to which he replied, "If Boston will have me." Boston is ready! Here's my shiny happy picture of me and Rick! The other two pictures here are also from that day.
I was also lucky enough to see Rick in concert twice this fall--September 5th at Foxwoods Casino in CT and October 16th at the Beacon Theater in New York City. Pictures are coming as fast as my budget allows me to get them developed!
