Fire In The Wind |
By Steven Brown |
I've written my heart and soul on a peice if paper. I'm going to read it twice, Once for reflection, Once for luck, Then i'll burn it, And I vow to change, As I watch the ashes blow in the wind, I see my old life and sins spread upon the land. And as I watch my life burn to a crisp, I realize I have to start over, Right my wrongs, Forgive my enemies, Revisit all my old friends so they would know I care. If they won't have me my sins will have the last laugh. If my enemies laugh in my face my sins will have the last laugh. If i'm alone in the universe my sins will have the last laugh. Then I turned around and saw you. I feared talking to you because my sins reach far and wide. I feared you would be burnt if you were to touch me or hear my words again. But ou came to me and said with your gentle voice that my sins were only harmful if I felt nothing for the people they hurt. You placed my hand in yours and the ashes no longer burned and hurt. You showed me the way. A tear runs down my face. I let go of the past and embrace the future. You are my saviour. You saved me. I am in debt to you the likes of which I will never be able to repay. My friend. Enjoy. © Steven David Brown |
