I'm blank inside, feel dead alive, I've lost my hope so I don't try. I'm going nowhere and I'm gaining speed, I saw myself die in a dream. I look to tomorrow to bring me hope, but the new begginings always feels so old. The seeds of my future are in my hands but I burn the seeds and salt the land. I sold my soul to buy some food for me desire to be with you. I sold myself to buy some time to forget about this pain inside. I sold my past to get away. I sold my future to escape. I sold forever to get payed. And when I'm broke I'll sell today. I sold my life to lose my stress. I sold my dreams to get some rest. I sold the world to get some peace. I sold myself just to be free. I try to speak but I only choke. Once again I think I'm broke. I can't believe that I fell behind. I can't believe that I've been so blind. Down by sea I sit by the shore. I don't think I can take this anymore. The sky calls to me like a bird needs to fly. The ground calls to me like I have to die. I'd stay in the sky if I could grow some wings. I'd stay in the sea if I had gills to breath. Sometimes I think I've lost my mind. My soul is locked up in the grind. I sold my past to get away. I sold my future to escape. I sold forever to get payed. And when I'm broke I'll sell today. I sold my life to lose my stress. I sold my dreams to get some rest. I sold the world to get some peace. I sold myself just to be free. we can blame it on the damned so the dumb wont understand so that they'll follow along Then when everybody's dead We'll say we had no part in it they were that way all along And when their souls rise to depart we can catch them in a jar and keep them on the shelf and we can play with our pet lives feed them small insects like flys and teach them to play dead set my soul free... © Michael James Mead |
