THE EASY TO UNDERSTAND, LORD'S PRAYER, PAGE
By JOHN CHOPORES

Mathew 6:9 "In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Who are we to prayer to? The true, best, and only perfect Father, God the Father Himself!

In what ways is God a father?

1. By creation; He has made us (humankind).
Cf.
Mal. 2: 10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Acts
17: 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

2. By saving us, helping become born-again. Cf.
1 john 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

3. By being the Father of God the Son (Jesus Christ). Cf.
John 20: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Prov. 8:22-23 22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
Gal. 4: 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

What makes God the Father, a father to the Christian?

Faith, itself! Cf.
Gal.
3: 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Faith in the Work of Christ. Cf. Hebrews 2:11-13. 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

How is God the Father, the best Father?

1. He is the most ancient. Cf
. Daniel 7: 9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

2. He is perfect. Cf.
Matthew 5: 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

3. He is the source of Wisdom. Cf.
1 Tim. 1: 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
4. He is the most loving father. Cf. 1 John
4: 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

5. He is the wealthiest father. Cf.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Psalms 24:1 <>> The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
Psalms 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
Eph. 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

6. He can reform and make new, His children. Cf
. 2 Corinthians
5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

7. He is a father, who never dies. Cf.
1 Tim. 6: 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Rev. 1: 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
(God has no beginning, or end. The faithful, born-again Christian, will live forever, but did have a beginning.)
