Zine Reviews!

Crucial Times #12-$1
P.O. Box 190
Shawnee-On-Delaware, Pa 18356
Interviews w/ Through and Through, Sofa Records, Gransane, Extension, Fable, Terra Firma, Seven Stars 8 and I believe others. (I lent it to my friend to read.) This zine rocks! This is definitely one of my favorite zines. Layout reminds me of I Stand Alone. Tons of articles, reviews and interviews to keep you busy for days. After reading this, you definitely get the sense that you know the editor a little more. (That is the way it should be!)

Forthright #2- $1
4133 Ocana Ave.
Lakewood, Ca 90713
Interviews with Born Blind, Stretch Arm Strong, Eso-Charis, and Discordance Axis. This zine is so packed full of writings it makes my head spin. The only picture in the whole thing is on the cover. The editor definitely accomplishes what he wanted to. He didn't waste any space what so ever. Anyway, this zine is definitely aimed at a "Christian" crowd. Make your own opinion on that. I think that is fine. The writing style seems to be like the editor is writing a letter or talking to just one person, which is kind of hard to get used to, but you'll adjust. Better than #1.

a glam-rocker's diary- #17
WKU Box 8195
Bowling Green, KY 42101-3576
Not to much different than old Crucial Times street-zine. There are no interviews. This is a double sheet of paper and that is it. There are a couple of reviews, an article on some guys hometown and a music report.

I Stand Alone- #11 -$2
P.O. Box 321
Buckner, KY 40010
This is such a great zine. If you haven't experience ISA, it is due time. Interviews with Kid Dynamite, Buried ALive, Ebullition Records, Out, and a By the Grace of God tour diary. Plus plenty of reviews and articles to keep you busy.

Side Stage- #4 and #3-$1ppd.
P.O. Box 94
Myersville, MD 21773-0094
#4- Interviews with the Huntingtons, the Gloria Record, John Szuch (Deep Elm Records), Appleseed Cast and Subsist.
#3- Interviews with One 21, Terra Firma and Jeff Cloud. This is one zine that my heart just kind of does a little flutter when I see it in my mailbox. I really like this. There is some writing and record record reviews along with the interviews. The only thing I'd like to see different is to cut out some of the interviews and add some more writings. The writing that is done is very good. I highly recommend this zine.

Third Nail- #5
2029 South 6th St.
Allentown, Pa 18103
Interviews with Plaid and Five Iron Frenzy. For the most part, I like this. Lots of cut n' paste. Which, I like. I think it adds personality. Anyway…There are a ton of pictures, some cool articles and a few smaller stories that I didn't care for that much. Not bad at all though.

Vain Attempt- #1-30pgs. $1
27300 Emery Rd.
Cleveland, OH 44128
Well this is issue #1 and besides for a few reasons, you'd never be able to tell. I can't wait to see where he goes with this. This was a quick read though and there is quite a bit of wasted space. The articles that where in this where very good and I enjoyed them very much. Besides articles, there was poetry, artwork, band pics and a interview with Johny Respect.
