From the Floating Log at Frogmorton

As I walked out in the streets of Lothlorien,
As I walked out in Lothlorien one day,
I spied an Elven Queen all dressed in white gauze-stuff,
All dressed in white gauze-stuff and cool in her way.

"I see by my mirror that you are the Ringbearer,"
These words did she speak as I boldly stepped by.
"Come sit down beside me and hear of your future,
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

"Your friends and relations live back in the Shire,
They know not where their Frodo has gone,
You first left the Shire and headed for Bree,
Now you've lost Gandalf and you've lost your way.

"You've journeyed hard, and from Riders you're dashing,
In Moria, you nearly become a Balrog's prey.
You ran first to Rivendell, then to the mountains,
Got stabbed by a Nazgul, but didn't die that day.

"You had eight companions to assist you on your way,
Before you're done, you will have lost them all,
Except for the gardener you thought was in the way,
He'll always come when he hears you call.

"So go very caref'ly but don't go too slowly,
Don't trust the Men who say they will help you,
Take the Ring to Mount Doom and throw it therein,
Else the world will end, we'll have seen its last day.

"Go pour me a bowl, a bowl of cold water,
To refresh my mirror so more future I'll see."
But I was too freaked out, and so there I left her,
Left her there in her grove, and then went to bed.

So we went very caref'ly but not too slowly,
Sometime trusted Men who said they would help
Took the Ring to Mount Doom and then threw it in,
The world didn't end, but I had a very bad day.
