     3rd series Sgorbions were released throughout Italy in 1991.  Topps Italy manufactured the sticker album cards along with France's "Les Crados" and Spain's "La Pandilla Basura" cards.  The set covers several of the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th U.S. series, and a couple unpublished U.S. images kept from the earlier Sgorbions releases from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th U.S. series, not in any particular order.  And, the set also contains new, original artwork very similar to the new artwork found in the Argentina sets. The set also contains two sub-sets, one 6-card set called "Sgorbions STARS" poking fun at popular figures in the press, the second 42-card called "SgorBLOBions" which is a direct reproduction of the U.S. set by Mel Appel called "Weird Ball". The cards measure slightly smaller than 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, and are non-die cut stickers.  The Italian sets are a direct reproduction of the French Les Crados cards and have a great gloss finish with images that have been color saturated and faded out so they're not as sharp as the original versions.

1. The Banner-Style Header is used, like in the U.S. 10th - 15th series GPK's.  The Sgorbions title is printed over the old GPK logo to block out the Les Crados header. The 3rd series black square, like the 1st series set, does not cover the entire square within the banner ... but the 2nd series black box covers the entire square.

2. There are several Older GPK Characters that were not represented in the early Sgorbions series' because of their content that appear at the end of the 3rd series Sgorbions set. Some examples are cards #600 "GEREMIA MACELLERIA" (4th 137a "MAX Axe" and 137b "Deadly DUDLEY"), #602 "RICCARDO TESTARDO" (7th 279a "Short MORT" and 279b "NOAH Body", #604 "ALOISIA MORTISIA" (3rd 95a "Grim JIM" and 95b "BETH Death"), #605 "TONINO FANTINO" (8th 295A "CHARLIE Horse" and 295B "Amusement PARKER"), and #608 "RED RONALD" (2nd 46a "Rappin' RON" and 46b "RAY Gun").


3. The set contains several new Original Artwork Pieces throughout the set though the artist(s) is unknown -- similar to the later released cards found within the Sgorbions Legends set and the Argentina "Basuritas" (2000 and 2001) sets. Card example #615 "RENATO INCASTRATO" showing a Kid's johnson being castrated by his pants' zipper.


4. 3rd Series Sgorbions cards #454 and #534 have the Same Name of "DANTE FERTILIZZANTE".

5. Card #587 "SUPER-MARKETTO" contains a Straight Sgorbions Header, unlike the slanted GPK header of cards 406a "Shopping CARTER" and 406b "Super MARCUS" of the 10th U.S. series which looks like it has been thrown in the shopping cart along with the other grocery items.


6. The set has Blue Borders around the cards instead of the commonly found white borders of other GPK sets -- much like the yellow bordered cards of the 2nd Sgorbions (with the green bordered subset cards) and Legends Sgorbions sets.

7. The series contains a very short, 6-card Subset titled Sgorbions Stars following the regular 3rd series Kids (Uglies) set, depicting various characters found in the press or media during that time, numbering 625 - 630. Card example #629 "B.U.S.H." pictured below.


8. The series also contains another strange parody, a second Subset titled SgorBLOBions found at the very end of the Sgorbions 3rd series set that contains 42 cards numbering 631 - 672. The subset is a direct replication of the Mel Appel U.S. release called "Weird Ball" released in 1986 which were a parody of the popular Mad Ball toys released by TCFC Amtoy, Inc. in 1986. Several card backs of the "Weird Ball" set contain parody-like drawings similar to the Topps "Wacky Packages".

9. The 3rd series Sgorbions set leaves out several images from the U.S. sets that are Not Used, or at times uses previously unpublished cards, these cards are as follows:

U.S. 2ND SERIES : Previously Unpublished U.S. Card Used : 46a "Rappin' RON" and 46b "RAY Gun".

U.S. 3RD SERIES : Previously Unpublished U.S. Card Used : 95a "Grim JIM" and 95b "BETH Death".

U.S. 4TH SERIES : Previously Unpublished U.S. Card Used : 137a "MAX Axe" and 137b "Deadly DUDLEY".

U.S. 7TH SERIES : Previously Unpublished U.S. Card Used : 279a "Short MORT" and 279b "NOAH Body".

U.S. 8TH SERIES : Previously Unpublished U.S. Card Used : 295A "CHARLIE Horse" and 295B "Amusement PARKER".

U.S. 10TH SERIES : 36 Out of 39 Cards Used.  NOT Used : 389a "Dire RITA" and 389b "Overflow JOE" (Images for cards 379 and 416 used in the 2nd Sgorbions set).

U.S. 11TH SERIES : 15 Out of 42 Cards Used.  NOT Used : 435a "London BRIDGET" and 435b "Toxic WES" (Images for 26 cards used in the 2nd Sgorbions set).

U.S. 12TH SERIES : 31 Out of 41 Cards Used.  NOT Used : 475a "Road-Kill WILL " and 475b "Stop SY", 478a "Bizarre LAMAR" and 478b "Rearranged RAYMOND", and 497a "Lame LEM" and 497b "EDWARD Hopper" (Images for 7 cards used in the 2nd Sgorbions set).
