FRENCH - GERMAN - DUTCH
1986 TEST SETS
The Garbage Pail Kids line was released as a 44-card variation test set with
no twin cards in France and Belgium in 1986, right after the UK 1st Series
set. The card set was manufactured by the Topps Ireland company and several
test sets were released to several surrounding countries. The card character
names, 'PEEL HERE' arrow and card back dailogue is written in French and the
cards measure 2 1/8 X 3 inches and are non-die cut (peeling from the
edges). The box and wrapper packaging is the same for all three test sets,
but the price for the French release was '10 BF' that equates to 10 Belgium
Francs. A few years later, two sets of Les Crados were released in France
and an All-New Series set released in 2004.
The Garbage Pail Kids line was released as a 44-card variation test set with no twin cards in Germany and Denmark in 1986, right after the UK 1st Series set. Test sets for both France and Belgium were produced in the same structure and all manufactured by the Topps Ireland company. The cards measure 2 1/8 X 3 inches and are non-die cut (peeling from the edges) and were sold in the same UK cellophane wrapper as the other 1st Series releases at the time. The set is a direct reproduction of the UK 1st Series set with the card character names, 'PEEL HERE' arrow and card back dialogue written in German. Years later, in 1994, a set of Die Total Kaputtan Kids was released in Germany showcasing characters from other GPK sets.

Total Cards = 41 Cards + 3 Variations
The Garbage Pail Kids line was released as a 44-card variation test set
with no twin cards in the Netherlands and Holland in 1986. The set was
manufactured at the Topps Ireland company and several test sets were
released to several surrounding countries. The
card character names, 'PEEL HERE' arrow and card back dialogue is written
in Dutch and the cards measure 2 1/8 X 3 inches and are non-die
cut (peeling from the edges). The box and wrapper packaging is the same
for all three test sets, but the price found on the box for the Dutch
release was 'FL' which stands for Dutch guilder or fl. The Dutch test
set may have been the most lucrative resulting in an immediate release
of the UK 2nd Series with no translation.
