5. The nineth series to contain cards with The GPK Acronym found within the artwork. The GPK acronym found on the cheerleader's shirt of cards 551a "Rah Rah RONI" and 551b "Sis Boom BONNIE". The GPK acronym found on the root beer can of cards 557a "STU Brew" and 557b "Empty KEN ". And, the GPK's RULE! acronym found on the school desk (by hand) of cards 575a "Brain Drain BRIAN" and 575b "Pick A WINNIE".

6. The second series to have exactly the Same Name as another series -- cards 558a "HANS Off" and 514b "HANS Off" (13th series).




7. The series contains a product parody poking fun at Topps' own "Bazooka Gum" property ... besides previous GPK characters like "JOE Blow" and "Bazooka JOANNE" parodying the Bazooka Joe character mascot for the BAZOOKA gum comics, cards 563a "Potato CHIP" and 563b "DICK Tater" have a character watching a television news program with a can of pop called "Bazooka" next to the TV set.

8. The GPK character on cards 556a "Mothy MARTHA" and 556b "Nailed NATALIE", minus the 'new' style of ears, looks to be as close to the old CPK-Style Of GPK as possible, including the five fingers and yarn-like hair.

9. The series has two cards with the Same First Name -- cards 551b "Sis Boom BONNIE" and 565a "Easter BONNIE".

GPK HISTORY SECTION

1. Artist Tom Bunk had Different Renditions For several of his 14th series Color Roughs. Below are some examples of these various color versions that you can compare to the actual color roughs for cards 551a "Rah Rah RONI" and 551b "Sis Boom BONNIE", 552a "Half WHIT" and 552b "Lead-Head NED".

2. This 14th Series Wrapper Artwork was created for the release by Tom Bunk, who created all the wrapper artwork for the 16 original series sets, before the final version. This marks the second release where the wrapper artwork deviates from the box artwork.


3. This Tom Bunk Unpublished GPK's was finished in 1988 and was intended for the 14th series but reworked, the character was changed from a boy to a girl with a changed background, to become cards 546a "Modern MARLISE" and 546b "Abstract ABBY".


4. The 14th series "FLICK IT ! " section artwork on the back of the cards which emulates a flipbook-type effect was completed By Richard McGuire. The 14th series "Would We Lie To You?" (parody of Ripley's "Believe It, Or Not") artwork on the back of the cards was completed by Tom Bunk. Jay Lynch and Mark Newgarden wrote the gags for the backs.

Featuring: 2nd series 53a "Jolted JOEL" and 53b "Live MIKE": 1st series 14a "Potty SCOTTY" and 14b "JASON Basin"; 12th series 495a "Gloppy GLEN" and 495b "Slop Top TODD"; along with several other characters.

5. An Unpublished 14th series Card Back Section. Although, one of several final artwork pieces that GPK collector Nate Lucius purchased through the Topps Vault (around 22 years after image was drawn), this particular piece was not smooth like the others and had something pasted over it -- including an overlay sheet with changed text cut out from construction paper and pasted on over the original... literally, a last minute change before publication.

7. For The Lay-Out of the series, Tom Bunk completed the artwork for the first half of the set, cards 541-553; James Warhola completed the middle artwork piece for card 554; and John Pound completed the remaining last half of the set, cards 555-580.
