I'd assume his enlarged, sonar-like ears also act as satelite dishes of sorts. ~ The Fisto parody character is seen within the scene as being a bit heavy-handed, equipped with his battle sword and side-heavy, ground-and-pound fist. DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Moss Man parody character is seen mainly in his moss-covered birthday suit, a friendly mace, and a black hair pick: a flat square-shaped comb with a handle and long teeth used to style by picking the hair; colloquially known as an Afro pick. The toy packaging excitedly exclaimed: "Twist his waist!" and "Work his powerful arms!" Thankfully, just the arms (and mossy 'hair').

This warning is NOT on the toy packaging and only states: "Twist his waist...his battle-thrasher tail whips around!", and not that it also causes severe whiplash injury. Whiplash attorney? The character is pictured without his vermilion toy spear accessory, but the 'pain stars' are the same colour and a good replacement.

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Mosquitor parody character is seen receiving a blood transfusion; the process of transferring the blood of one person (or insectoid) into the veins of another. In this case, from a blood bag and rack on wheels. Somehow, the infectious character has infected himself with some sort of parasite and disease. The toy packaging joyfully exclaimed: "Chest pumps red fluid!" Perhaps quidelines prevented toy companies from using the word 'blood', or bloodbaths are no-sellers. If an oppenant was too far away to feel the sting, the figure was also packaged with a blaster accessory.

def’n: Scaredy-cat
informal. A very timid and easily frightened individual.

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Prince Adam parody character is seen cowarding away from an itsy-bitsy spider dangling from a spider thread in front of his face. A fight-or-flight response? No, more like a fright-and-flight response. One leg lifted, hands over a suprised mouth, breaking out in a nervous sweat, and dropping his important sword. It should be pointed out that He-Man's trusty sidekick Batte Cat's alter ego, Prince Adam's pet Cringer, is lazy and actually very cowardly, but once Battle Cat is transformed he is both headstrong and overly eager for some action and excitment to begin. Cringe: to turn away in fear.

def’n: Tasty Having a pleasant, distinct flavour.

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Teela parody character is seen being bitten by her cobra hood and cobra staff; strangely, she neither adorns the cobra hood nor wields the cobra staff in either the animated series or comics, only her gold-trimmed leotard outfit. Upwards of ten snake bites can be distinguished on the front side of her body alone. The potentially preventative accessory not pictured is a small red shield, which may or may not have blocked some snake bites.

def’n: Garbage disposal
An electrically operated device fitted to the waste pipe of a kitchen sink for grinding up food waste. The disposal of household refuse.

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Roboto parody character is seen and, well, seen-through... the character's transparent, literal see-through body usually shows his inner-working gears but has been replaced by a garbage disposal, to act as his mechanical stomach and a faucet release valve protruding through the warrior's chest cavity. The visor apparently acts as a mouth to pulverize the intake of refuse. The character's mechanical claw can be replaced with either an axe accessory or a laser gun within the toyline.

44a ROCK KEN

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Rokkon parody character is seen hunched over, possibly turning into his rock formation. The character's toy figure packaging states: "Invincible boulder transforms into master of defense!"; invincible is obviously not be the case when it comes to a miner's axe. Phonetically speaking, Rokkon sounds and reads like 'Rock on', a phrase inspired by youth rock music culture and maintaining that lifestyle even through adulthood.

DOTU DETAILS:
~ The Rattlor parody character is seen shaking his pair of maracas, and his 'battle rattle' tail, instead of holding his rattler snake staff. These are no baby rattles. The character can also be seen with his 'quick strike head' sing-hissing with venomous spittle flying out of the creature's mouth. A rattlesnake strike occurs when the snake releases the 'S' loop in an instantaneous thrust at its victim; during the strike the snake's mouth opens, positioning its fangs to stab and inject venom. Ssscary.

One of the initial DotU images was posted online during March of 2015 as a final artwork commission piece for the He-Man/Skeletor mash-up characters followed in May of 2016 with a picture of Decal Stickers created for Pingitore's 'Slop Culture Kids' clothing line (t-shirts) that came free with purchase of an online order (no longer available). A Super Toy Con sneak peek Card Mock-Up was posted online prior to the first annual GPK Con in August of 2016 taking place in Vegas with a copyright line of '© MARK PINGITORE ALL RIGHTS RESERVED'.

The online Promotional Material in the form of electronic pictures acted as ads for the Disasters of the Universe Series 1 with images of the round sticker label found on the future 'pack' backside for sealing purposes and a close-up of the 1a ADAM N. EVIL card seen on social media in late July and early August of 2016 prior to the GPK Con. The set was listed as $35 each; a great price when considering an independent release, vinyl material, die-cuts and a small profit.

. Various fan art can be found online for GPK-inspired He-Man Parody cards — another officially released image was conceptually created by Adam White for his Craze One website. A commission painted by John Pound in January of 2011 and released as a clear 3.25" x 4" decal sticker within the 'Slime Time Snack Pack' and titled 'Wee-Man' and 'Smelletor'. After John Pound retired from commercial artwork around that period to concentrate on his 'code cartooning' artwork. Topps purchased quite a few of these commission pieces and printed as bonus cards within various GPK sets. The He-Man parody image was published within the Brand-New Series 1 set in October of 2012 as cards B4a He-MANNY and B4b Barbarian BRIAN. The same image was later released as a 11" x 14" poster card in July of 2014 at the San Diego Comic Con as card CC6a Eternal ADAM and online from the Topps Store as card CC6b He-MANNY.

. On April 29th, 2017, the Magic Marker Art website posted a limited edition pack of 8 Magnets for $15.00 with a print run of only 150 per subject under the Slop Culture Kids moniker. The 1st Series set contains four characters from the Disasters of the Universe set with a castle die-cut, two characters from the Horrorible Kids set with a tombstone die-cut, and two characters from the G.I.JOKES set with a dog-tag die cut. The cardboard packaging is modeled after a nostalgic Topps GPK wrapper containing a logo, a yellow background, 'STICKERS' in bold with a white background, a series announcement (starting after the OS1 set) and '5 STICKERS • 1 STICK BUBBLE GUM' printed at the bottom.

. Magic Marker Art (aka Mark Pingitore) took to social media on May 6th, 2017, to announce that sketches for Disasters of the Universe Series 3 had been completed and posting a Mock Up card. The artwork shows a tight sketch of card 19a Lite DWIGHT with a new purple nameplate and nomenclature that gives a shout-out to the magical screen toy line 'Lite-Brite'. The image is a parody of the Masters of the Universe 'Scare Glow' character using an umbilical-like cord to recharge his glow-in-the-dark bones. On May 24th, 2017, the mock-up card image was revealed.

. The online Promotional Material in the form of electronic sheets acted as ads for the Disasters of the Universe Series 3 on social media in early and late June of 2017. The initial ad ran on Mark Pingitore's pages on June 7th and had the 'JUNE 22, 2017' tagline and portrayed two of the previously sneak-peeked rough-color characters plus a new image. The second preview ad was posted on the actual release date and the tagline now read 'NOW AVAILABLE'. The background showcases the same character sketches for the DotU2 ads.

. The Magic Marker Art social media pages showed images of packaged Disasters of the Universe Series 3 Packs with a circular sticker and was eventually used as the picture link for the sale of the set on the website. The circular sticker seen in the bottom left hand corner seals the protective wrap on the backside of the "pack". The set was listed as $35 each; a great price when considering an independent release, vinyl material, die-cuts and a small profit. The new nameplate colour for the release is purple.

. The Magic Marker Art page posted a Disasters of the Universe Starter Bundle for sale priced at $80.00 on 06/22/2017 for a limited time only in conjuction with the DotU Series 3 release that very same day. The Bundle included: the DotU Series 1 set (second print run), the DotU Series 2 set (first print run), an ADAM N. Evil enamel pin and the Series 1 Magnet set.

. Magic Marker Art (aka Mark Pingitore) took to Instagram on June 13th, 2017 to post the color model image of an upcoming pin for the character of card 19a Lite DWIGHT to be realized as an Enamel Pin. Compared to the tight sketch and mock-up cards (pictured further above) the umbilical cord is not plugged in. The limited edition pin of 150 went on sale August 11th, 2017 for $10 and an image of the glow-in-the-dark special effect was posted the week leading up to the release.

On November 20, 2020 artist Mark Pingitore shared a headshot Color Rough sneak peek of the Masters of the Universe character Tri-Clops parody stating: "Keep three eyes out for a new Disasters of the Universe series coming early 2020! [THREE EMOJI EYES] Almost finished color roughs!" Store link in my profile." Card previews continued to be shared for several months.

21. Starting on December 27, 2020 a slew of ads were posted to social media over the next month promoting the pre-order for the Disasters of the Universe release with the initial ad stating: "Disasters of the Universe pre-orders start January 9th! Stay tuned for full details!" The second ad posted on January 8, 2020 stated: "Disasters of the Universe box and pack pre-orders start tomorrow at www.magicmarkerart.storenvy.com! This series sees the addition of 1 foil card per pack in addition to the 5 base cards. The complete base set will still come with each box. Full release details to be revealed tomorrow!"

The third ad posted on the release day of January 9, 2020 gave a breakdown of the box contents and stated: "PRE-ORDERS are now live at www.magicmarkerart.storenvy.com! 24 pack boxes, 5 pack bundles and single packs are available. Direct link in my profile. Each box comes with: A full 90 card base set (45 characters, each with an "a" and "b" alias) - One foil card per pack - An exclusive box poster - One 1/1 Printing Plate - Vintage style cardstock (die-cut stickers!) - BACK ART - Checklists, Puzzles and "Mint on Card" Backs." The fourth ad to promote pre-order presales posted on January 15, 2020 shared the reverse card artwork and stated: "Here’s a look at the Disasters of the Universe backs. Pre-orders now open at www.magicmarkerart.storenvy.com!"

22. Besides the Disasters of the Universe box, whose Product Label would change from 'PRE-ORDER $80 PER BOX' (as seen above) to simply '$80 PER BOX' on the Magic Marker Art shop online, collectors could also order two different pack options. The 1-pack product label would change from 'PRE-ORDER 1 PACK $4' to simply '1 PACK $4' and the 5-pack product label would change from 'PRE-ORDER 5 PACKS $17' to simply '5 PACKS $17' on the website after the pre-order.

~

23. On January 21, 2020 artist Mark Pingitore advertised a free Bonus Sticker to help promote pre-order presales stating: "Every Disasters PRE-ORDER comes with a free bonus sticker! Order now at www.magicmarkerart.storenvy.com". Unlike the original decal sticker of the same character in 2015, this is a rendered artwork version as seen on the wrapper and album cover with the DotU header.

24. The Disasters of the Universe Series 4 covered the three previous releases and new content and introduced Foil Cards to the Magic Marker Art collecting library. Every pack came with on foil card for the 90-card set, covering images for the previous three releases and the new content for series 4. Collectors could purchase the complete uncut foil card sheet for $50 directly from the Magic Marker Art website: "A set of (2) 45 card uncut foil sheets - Each sheet measures 19 x 24.5 inches and together has the full 90 card foil set".

26. Artist Mark Pingitore posted the Artwork Stages to social media on March 9, 2020 and stated: "TREY Klops from start to finish. A look at the stages for each painting I do - rough sketch, final drawing, color rough, and final art. There’s also a tight pencil stage between the rough sketch and final pencil that I do for every one." A nice visual presentation of the artwork process prior to card mock-up production.

27. Magic Marker Art continued to advertise for the Disasters of the Universe set and posted a Mint On Card reverse back sample on March 9, 2020 and stated: "A better look at one of the MOC backs from Disasters of the Universe- Series 4. I wanted to do a fun nod to the vintage MOTU cardbacks. RELEASE UPDATE After a slight delay due to the Corona situation, production is planned to wrap up by the end of March. It’s looking like I’ll have them in hand early April, but I will post another update when I know for sure! Thanks!" The ingenius card backs are a nostalgic shout out to the hand-painted portraits of toy characters and their packaging with a card and plastic bubble.

28
. On April 22, 2020 a new T.R.A.S.H. Mini mock-up image was previewed on social media by artist Mark Pingitore and stated: "Sneak peek at the next T.R.A.S.H. Mini in the works [three making-muscles emojis]". This was a repost on Instagram from Alien Robot Monster (A.R.M.) that Magic Marker Art worked closely with for his first T.R.A.S.H. Mini from the Horrorible Kids line. Alien Robot Monster stated: "You know this guy? I told him I think he's suffering from a split personality. He said no, we're not! WIP of Adam N. Evil, [Magic Marker Art's] awesome Disasters of the Universe character and our next collab!"

. Mark's appreciation for parody and Garbage Pail Kids can be seen on his Magic Marker Art's website in the form of his Personal Mascot, a self-caricature modeled after OS2 cards 74a MARK Bark and 74b Kennel KENNY painted by John Pound. This would be the first 'Mark' name in the GPK canon; Pingitore's character is biting down on a No.2 pencil instead of a dog bone.
