Stories in the Park

Bridgeview's Commissioner's Park has sponsored 'Stories in the Park' for the past four years.  It doubles as an Ice Cream Social ... and Heartland Story League has told stories in the park for every one of those four years ... This year I added two stories to the agenda -- beginning -- "Ito was a rock cutter ... . He knew how to strike, with one blow, and break a bit of mountain into gravel

He was a very good rock cutter.

Ask anyone.  Ask Ito.

Why do you have those animals in your house?

... with the Rabbi looking at the farmer square in his eye, in "Too Much Noise."

"You silly man!   Why do you have all those animals in your house; they belong in the barn, or in the field, or in a chicken coop ... .  Go!  Put them back where they belong!"

And he did.

And he marveled at how quiet his house had become.

He was a very lucky man.
