Four well-known footballers in the North East of England have played cricket for Lintz. These were: Frank Clark (Newcastle United and later manager of Nottingham Forest), David Elliott (Sunderland) and Joe Jacques (Darlington) and Brian Tinnion (Newcastle United, Bradford and Bristol City).
