Quiet Fire Appreciation Party

 Wednesday, March 31, 1999

Wonderful volunteers and fans, Diane Slaninko, Coleen Curtis, Peewee Griffo, Glenda McCrary, Dianne Johnston and Carol Niles.

Just another typical Saturday? No Way! It was Quiet Fire! A trio of very gifted and energetic entrepreneurs, with their eyes to the future. The group started about two years ago as a small crackle, but now there is nothing quiet about their fire.

Michael Metevier and Christopher Ruble was playing with a karaoke machine in Michael's, parents garage, when the "Quiet Fire" idea was conceived. Their friends, who owned ArtSpace Theatre, gave them their first opportunity as professional karaoke entertainers.

Christopher Ruble has a background in musical

theater. He has performed at the Jupiter, Royal Palm and other theaters on the east coast of Florida.

Michael Metevier is the groups manager, taking care of the bookings and equipment. He runs the system and keeps track of the 3,500 songs and deejay music.

Tina Bowe, was formally with Backstage Productions for six and a half years. Her background in music started in prison ministry, where she would sing gospel music to the men in various prisons.

Her vast knowledge of over 600 karaoke songs is also a plus. Tina was associated with three previous bands before joining Quiet Fire.

Tina and Christopher are the vocalist while Michael plays the CD music.

Their style of music is a mix of country, top 40s and oldies, there is something for everyone, including line dancing. Michael and Tina will occasionally display their line dancing abilities while performing at the Sassy Snapper.

Quiet Fire can be seen, every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.and sometimes on Friday and Saturday night at the Sassy Snapper, 70 N. Indiana Ave., Englewood, where the food is great and everyone knows your name. Quiet Fire is available for all occasions, including: weddings, private

parties, and graduations. Call Michael at 698-1787.

Saturday, on Englewood Beach, Quiet Fire held a "thanks to the fans appreciation party". The barbecue was well attended and the music kept everyone humming' and dancin', and you can see everyone had a great time.
