Gretchen has her BS in Environmental Science from Messiah College in Grantham, PA.
I am currently working for Starbucks Coffee Company in Canby, Oregon.
"Starbucks!?" you say. I know, I know, but they acually have a pretty strong envinronmental ethic. For example,
they self-mandated themselves to increase use of green-energy in stores, they often use energy effecient lightbulbs, they
provide coffee grounds for composting, and almost all of their coffees are naturally organic.
They also have a very good people ethic. They work personally with their farmers and often pay them a wage above
the industry standard. They also invest a lot into training and maintaining their employees. Part-time employees
(like me) can sign up for health insurance. Awesome!
So, they're not so bad. Even though they're everywhere, they're all about improving the local and global community.
