All around the Art-O-Matic floor were animal tracks, tracks that none had ever seen the likes of before. And they all converged on one place; they all led to one Mecca of imagination, they all hustled to that one oasis of music and joy, wiggle and rhythm, wit and huggability--I'm speaking of the den of the Perc-Puppets, of course! Although much of the time they hung out in seeming chaotic array, one twang of the wires strung throughout the display set them atwitter, and it was hard to tell whether the giggles and guffaws were coming from the humanoid visitors, or the Perc-Puppets themselves. Occassionally they were even seen on parade throughout the Art-O-Matic domain, gathering a crowd wherever they went, leaving fresh new animal tracks around the floor, ultimately always leading back to their curious, comical den. April 22, 2001 Dear Guillermo, The installation, Ñ and the Perc-Puppets, that you created for Art-O-Matic 2000 was adored by children, teachers and parents. It was a great addition that so many children had a chance to create new perc-puppets. Watching their performance in conjunction with the music and visual arts displayed at Art-O-Matic enlivened our show. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
