My India born  grand  mother, Somwaria, died 11 days after the birth of my father Mohamed Ashin in 1929.

The baby, Jaitoon, shown in the picture on the left, was about 60 years old when she died in Guyana, July 2002,. Her father was Edu, but her mother was unknown.

My  father's sister, Rasulan, who was living in Canefield, Canje, Berbice, passed away few years ago after giving birth to a baby girl. That girl, lives with her aunt Rafatan in Vryheid, Berbice, Guyana.
