Man electrocuted while connecting
illegal wire in friends house

An Annandale resident was yesterday electrocuted while he was reportedly making an illegal electrical connection in one of his friends' home. The incident occurred at around 14:00 hours yesterday.

According to reports, 34-year-old Vickram Harrichand visited his friend's home, and was running a wire to a fridge, when he stepped into some water. At the same time his hand came into contact with a live wire.

“We ain't getting current in this area so what else we can do. He was just helping we run wire in de house. Is when he running a wire to the fridge fuh it wuk, like he walk in some water and same time like he hand touch a live wire,” the source said.

The source added that after the man fell on the ground and began frothing, his friends tried desperately to revive him but to no avail.

Harrichand was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
