He added that although the Police make regular checks with family members, the situation concerning the missing men remains the same. &#x201CThey ain't tell we nothing new up to now,” Khemraj said.

At the home of Sookram Dhanai at 70 Non Pariel, his wife, Padmowattie, continued to mourn his disappearance. She said that the family refuses to believe that something has happened to their loved one and they are still hoping that he is alive.

On the morning of September 24, the two men failed to return home after leaving for work the previous day.

The mysterious disappearance of Dhanai, 45, and Hardat, 53, comes four months after two other GUYSUCO workers, Sampersaud Taranauth of Enterprise Maikhram Sawh of Non Pariel also went missing.

A joint service team comprising members of the Guyana Police Force and Guyana Defence Force has been searching the Lusignan backlands and surrounding areas for the men since Saturday.
