Police confirmed the findings of the autopsy, but declined to
say whether they have made any progress in their investigations.
However, Kaieteur News
understands that the four men who are in custody were subjected
to intensive questioning yesterday at two police stations. They
remained in custody last night.
The men were picked up after records at Guyana Telephone and
Telegraph Company (GT&T) revealed that they had telephoned
Charles shortly before her death.
One of the suspects is a minibus owner who appears to be the
last person that Charles contacted by telephone before she
disappeared.
It appears that police suspect that the 26-year-old woman was
slain elsewhere and then dumped near the seawalls.
Police said that only one boot belonging to the victim was
found near the corpse.
So far, no motive was suggested for her murder.
