Appointments for President
show international recognition

Dear Editor,

To put it plain and simple: the appointment of President Bharrat Jagdeo as Chairman of the IMF/ World Bank Board of Governors is an achievement par excellence and reserved only for a few with deep intellect and astute leadership.

Once again this major achievement of President Jagdeo has brought international recognition of a very high standard to our beautiful country. Only Jagdeo is capable of such achievements!

Jagdeo has demonstrated, ever since he assumed the presidency of this country at the tender age of 35 in 1999, a leadership full of intellect, vision, focus and discipline.

This is the type of leadership which is critical for the development and advancement of this nation especially at a time of global adversities and perversities, and trials and tribulations.

Certainly the IMF and the World Bank, two most important factors in our country's development, have been following the exploits of this ‘youth-man' from Unity Village and are most pleased with what they have seen and experienced.

President Jagdeo will certainly discharge his responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism and dignity.

Sadly, the ‘Silver Fox' is not around to see the “lil-boy” grown into a respectable, global man!!

To President Jagdeo, I say: Congratulations, brother!! You are indeed the man to lead this nation well into the future.

I hope your detractors have taken note. They seem very silent.
